Independent Bookstore Day is a one-day national party that takes place at indie bookstores across the country on the last Saturday in April.

Independent bookstores are not just stores, they’re community centers and local anchors run by passionate readers. They are entire universes of ideas that contain the possibility of real serendipity. They are lively performance spaces and quiet places where aimless perusal is a day well spent.

In a world of tweets and algorithms and pageless digital downloads, bookstores are not a dying anachronism. They are living, breathing organisms that continue to grow and expand. In fact, there are more of them this year than there were last year. And they are at your service.

Record Store Day/Snail Mail Signing

Friends! This year not only will be be celebrating Record Store Day as usual we are very excited to also be having Lindsey Jordan of Snail Mail as a guest employee signing limited edition Celebrated Summer versions of thier new record "Ricochet" !

Here are the details: CSR will open at 9AM as usual on RSD for all of the awesome RSD titles. Because the Snail Mail record is NOT a RSD exclusive that will have a seperate line only for it and meeting Lindsey and will not go on sale until 11. The Snail Mail/CSR version is limited to 200 copies.
